I Needed to Climb

Gloss Print — 8.5 x 11

$30.00

This wasn’t planned.

That day started with my daughter going into surgery.
Awful just waiting while getting negative looks from my ex.

I showed up I supported her did my job.

But then I had to escape.

So, I drove.

Back to the same mountains I used to take her.
Back to the same place I go to disappear, to think, to rebuild.

Over 5,000 ft elevation.
Climbed roughly 60 feet up a telecom pole.

Not for the shot — for perspective.

From up there, everything below gets quiet.
Problems shrink. Noise fades.

The piece sits underneath me — grounded.
I’m above it — searching.

That tension is the image.
