This piece is about rejection.
Not loud rejection—quiet rejection.
The kind that doesn’t argue back.
The kind that just leaves.
Distance.
Silence.
What remains after both.
“The Shadow” came from a period where I rejected everything tied to God—not because I didn’t believe, but because I resented the silence.
I hated what I had done.
I hated what I had become aware of.
So I stopped listening.
But it didn’t leave.
Painted during that state, this piece isn’t expressive—it’s restrained.
It doesn’t reach out.
It waits.
There’s a stillness to it that isn’t peaceful.
It’s observant.

Context
This painting sits in between resistance and recognition.
A blackout that never fully covered what was underneath.
Something still watching.
Even when ignored.
Collector Positioning
This is not a loud piece.
It’s a quiet one that holds weight longer than it should.
The kind that doesn’t demand attention—
but changes the room once you notice it.
